Dr. Sakaguchi is a postdoctoral fellow of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Hokkaido University. He was an Overseas Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Uehara Memorial Foundation, a Sponsored Researcher at the Institute of Cell Biology, University of Edinburgh and a Veterinarian of the Research and Development Group, Zen-noh ET Center. 

For two years, he has been a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. His researches were on the area of reproductive biotechnologies such as in vitro and in vivo embryo production, reproductive physiology, and endocrinology.
